No, she wasn't awake at midnight, and neither were we - this was dinner at 5:30 - we knew we wouldn't last so we cracked the bottle of champagne early. :-)

it was funny when i came home one Tuesday and grandma had taught her to toast. now sometimes she won't drink if she sees you've got a glass of something. she wants to toast first!

Learning to toast is an important skill. Good for her!
My sister and some of her friends with toddlers all had dinner at her house and they celebrated the Parisian New Year--meaning they celebrated the New Year at 6:00 when it turned midnight in Paris. So when you toasted, it was the New Year somewhere, right? ;-)
