trip to texas part 1... long post!

our flight to austin was delayed 3 hours, but we made it (even with some aria spew during landing, but we survived). we drove to our friends over at johnny's brother and had tons. of. fun!

We headed to The Salt Lick, great atmosphere, great meat. look at it smoking!

Today we went for a nice long (4 miles total) walk, I had to get a picture with Stevie Ray Vaughan

We ended up at Zilker Park, and rode on the Zilker Zephyr, a nice little train for the kids. Aria loved it, here's Melissa and Aria, and then the "fam" in front of the train afterwards.

Happy Daddy's Day to all you guys! Ok, it's a little late (maybe I'm just early for next year)! And especially to you Goofydaddy. You are the best!

i know i haven't been as good about posting lately, and I thank dana (AKA goofymommy) for putting up some posts. we have a bunch of pictures from father's day to look through and post, and I'll be posting more during and after our upcoming trip to Texas!

Fountain Fun

This weekend we stopped by one of the local Farmers Markets. We picked out some yummy, very ripe strawberries that I made into sorbet (which we all are thoroughly enjoying, including Aria). I also packed an extra change of clothes because I knew there was a fountain there that welcomes kids to play in it. And that is JUST what we did! It was fun to see the other families with toddlers join right in…I was laughing because we were all there trying to keep our kids busy in the morning. Kevin and I were remarking how we used to miss the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings because we were always sleeping in! Those are days of the past. I do really enjoy the time together though.

So much fun!

Best Buds

This past weekend our plans changed twice for traveling. One was that we've made a tradition of going to MA but, happily, our nephew was born (we didn't want to expose him to Aria's germs). Second, we didn't make it up to our family's cottage on Saturday because, sadly, my G-pa passed away last Thursday and my parents traveled to be with him before he died. Instead of traveling later in the weekend, we decided to stay put, catch up on chores, and relax a little. It ended up being a rather enjoyable weekend. Aria's bud, Austin, was around too and they had lots of fun together playing in the water. See below...

*My G-pa was a super man. I can never imagine a life of 94 yrs! Please keep my G-ma in your prayers because it's going to be hard on her after 64 yrs of marriage. Rest in peace G-pa, I love you.

Weekend of Words

Just this weekend Aria really started to put words together. The novelty still hasn't worn off, it's just soooo cute to us!!!
